Where it Left Off

Which is what I don't recall, it's been so long now... kind of my bad, mostly lj bad.. they took it into their head that I should update my password, then made it a frustrating road trip to do so, so I'm only just getting back into it now.

We got the move done.  Then I spent TWO MONTHS with no income, because EI figured I qualified for insurance through work, and I told them AGAIN that I didn't, and then spent two months, many phone calls with 2 hrs on hold, finally getting my file sent to a manager, before they finally processed the "updated" information.

It was a long two months I tell you.

Indigo graduated, that was special.  My mom and Kevin loaned me their van with a tank of gas to get there and back.

Now that EI has been sorted, we're settling in completely finally.  I really miss Quinn, but that's about it.  It still has a bit of a surreal feel to it... but part of that might also be because of my medically altered mental state... not living in a cloud of anxiety feels real' weird!

It's been good though.

Josh is talking to me again.  I now know how my dad died.  Heart attack from smoking.  Yup.  Only took 14 years for someone to tell me.

:|

I'm considering biting the bullet and writing some articles for the Hort Society newsletter.  I doubt my own abilities/knowledge next to other's.  But I'll do it.  Get some volunteer hours hopefully.  I could really use that scholarship money to catch up on bills.

Thanks EI.

Zoe and Xander had good birthdays.  First time the Grandparents have been able to partake in over a decade. No joke. :|

Kevin is now completely off work until he can have his back surgery.  Currently they say the waiting list is 6-9 months.  If he sits wrong, moves wrong, he could end up paralyzed. Two of his lower vertebrae are rubbing against each other, with the potential to crush one of them.  So.  Yeah.

I'm glad we're here and able to help out.  Xander's taken over mowing their lawn once a week, and helping with other yard chores.

Becky and Tyler were very generous when we went up there just over a week ago.  It was before EI was sorted completely, they gave me $1000 and told me not to worry about paying May and June van payments.  I'm just not supposed to tell anyone.  But this is my journal so... :P I don't want to forget some things.

And with that quick update, I'm going to go back to job hunting.
