Well, today marks the beginning of a new chapter in my life. My boyfriend and his children just moved in with me this weekend. Should be very interesting in the near future. He and I started dating in January so if you know nothing about him, it is just because I have been out of contact during the school semester. I have been sick on and off since then. I am hoping that this crap stops now so I can get back to work.
In a couple weeks C's best friend will be moving in with us. In the mean time, we have to clean out that room.
I really love C and his children. They are 4 and 6 years old, both boys. They can be real hellions at times, but can also be soooo much fun. There really is something to seeing the world anew through the eyes of children. They are both *very* inquisitive and intelligent. It will be fun coming up with things for all of us to do.
This coming weekend, we will all be going to Assessment, which may be the first time the munchkins go camping.
C started playing in the SCA and fighting Rapier at the end of last year, so he is fairly new. But he has been playing martial arts for many years, so he has more than a small clue. It is also very interesting to see his approach to Rapier, coming from Aikido and Kung Fu gives him a very different perspective.
He is looking at going to college in January, but still deciding in what field. He tried going once, but the university closed on him. He is as addicted (or more?) to his computer as I am, so I am sitting here writing this and he is playing Counter Strike on the Southern Alabama Noobfest server. He is catching up with his buddies he hasn't talked to while he didn't have internet access.
He is actually being very cool about his computer usage. *grin* We are kinda negotiating time. He calls her his mistress, and to some extent that is true. But most of the time I don't mind, and when I do, I make it clear, and if I can't get him off the computer, I am doing something wrong. }:-)
So, life is good. Still making progress on my dissertation. Still having fun in the SCA. Looking forward to going to Assessment, but probably won't be fighting much. Need to find out if they still need a Royal Liason. I will probably be "mom" for the weekend since everyone else has things they are planning to do. Might as well get used to it now. *huge grin*
When P moves in, the three of us, (me, C, and P) will be working on Rapier. They want me to teach them and I need to get back in shape. So should be good for all of us. By the time we are "done" we should be an incredible three man team.
