I did New York AGAIN.

Apr 21, 2013 14:36

Well, I've had an amazing, much needed weekend in New York. Much needed because my depression has been coming back on for some reason lately. It's being triggered by random things, some of them the most idiotic things. And it's been giving me crazy thoughts, and it's driving me insane. It's helping so much being around people I care about, people that make me laugh, people that are awesome. I don't even think these people realize how much they help me. But then I'm not very good at telling people these things. I just write it down like the anti-social recluse I can be LOL

So anyway, there is a cute princess hiding deep down in this headbanger, and when she sees cute things and cute opportunities, she jumps out and squees taha Which is exactly what she did this weekend :D I donned my false eyelashes, had Jali do my makeup and hair, put on a pretty dress and danced at the Kyary show in New York City.

Plane ride was pretty awesome. I felt so boss in my exit row seat, with all my leg room, and my empty seat next to me. Delta, you did me so right this time around. Half the plane was empty so I got nearly the same seat flying back home too! It made me so freaking mad that I didn't bring my laptop to write though. I never bring it on the plane because I have no privacy writing my porn with someone smashed against my side taha This time I was able to stretch out, just sitting like a dude with my spread legs, reading my Game of Thrones, BOOK TWO. I'm going through these things so fast, it's insane. So much juicy drama going on!

Ugh, I was so happy to see Jali that weekend. It's a relief when I can just be myself around someone and I don't have to watch what I say. I can talk about Japanese things, derpy things, pornish things, or just listen, and not have to worry about judgement. Well maybe there's judgement but I never hear about it, so that's good LOL It's good to be understood. Depression points down, HAPPEH points, UP.

We got a nice little hostel in the Flatiron district, the weather was so nice, cool but not too cold. I usually freeze to death being from Texas and going up north, but this was a good cool, and I had a nice warm jacket to keep me warm besides :D We went shopping as we usually do....man, the economy must love us the way we spend dat cash. Sixthgunlife fo' sho. We've obviously made our own sixth gun thug life. Like I feel like I should tattoo tear drops on my cheeks for every show we survive and maybe get SIXTH GUN in cholo letters tatted on my GUNS. Whatchu know about this Gazette life tho? I be stompin' on hoes to get to Ruki and Ruha and shit. Ruki, look at my bling. We agreed we should make knuckle rings that say LOVE HATE and SIXTH GUN. Bro fist pump.

Alright enough thug talk. That's my double life right there. It's hard on the streets. With all my swag/black moral merchandise psssh >___>

But seriously, Jali's making t-shirts for the Mexico show and I find this sort of hilarious and awesome at the same time. Hers will be "Give me noise" and mine will be "Limited Edition" in all the bling that we can muster. Ruki is gonna be so jelly of our immense bling. Still think it's a good idea about on the back having "Ruki, am I pretty?" and on mine "WHY DOES IT FOLLOW?" So we can just look at each other and chuckle. Think I'm gonna pair with some blinged out shorts, ripped leggings, and my concert stomping boots. Gotta be looking good for those VIP tickets. Oh gawd, please let it happen ;______;

So anyway, back to the trip, though half of our trips seem to be making horrible puns and making fun of people....taha We ate some good over-priced food (Roxy's, you weren't worth it. All I wanted was eggs n' bacon D:) But the Hard Rock was sooooo good. I got mac n' cheese and chicken to die for and all the memorabilia was so cool to look around at. We were sitting by the naked drummer from the Red Hot chili pepper's drum. Also, we were wondering if there was a hard rock in Japan. Wouldn't that be awesome to be sitting there eating your food next to YOSHIKI'S DRUMSET? I wouldn't even eat, I'd just wander the place like a lost child, staring at everything. I can imagine one of Ruki's sparkly blinged out suits in a case, or maybe that famous upholstery suit LOL Don't get me started on Uruha's guitars. One of Kyo's blood stained or vomit stained masks in a case taha Now THAT is jrock history right there.

I was wondering if I would see the naked cowboy and cowgirl in Times Square, and had pretty much written them off because who goes around in a bikini in this cold weather? Obviously New Yorkers. They were indeed braving the weather in their tiny bikinki with their guitars. And Times Square seemed to be having a convention of characters that weekend. Everyone imaginable was walking around; elmo, woody from toy story, CAT WOMAN, spider man, bat man, hello kitty, mickey and minnie. You name it, they were there lol Takin' yo money for pictures lol

We walked. A lot. So glad I brought good walking boots. There was no rehash of Japan and blisters *shudders* We rode the ferris wheel in Toys R Us and we got the beloved My little pony cart because it was one of the coolest carts on the wheel LOL We're such big kids. Also just wandered the store looking at toys and possible gifts for Kyary. We ended up making her cute blinged out bracelets. Mine said "KPP" and Jali's was "Pon Pon Pon" she seemed to love them so much. When we met her....I nearly hyperventilated because I don't do well meeting famous people I like taha And she thanked me several times for the bracelet and posed with it in a picture. *does my usual stunned robot face* At least it didn't look as bad as the Miyavi picture......LOL She looked like a child next to me, so tiny, and so damn cute. *puts her in my bag as I want to do with everything I love*

On the day of the concert we got all cute and walked to the venue. One woman stopped and asked us several times if a parade was going on. WHAT. lol Did we honestly look like we were in a parade? People get so crazy when they think something is going on, like they can't stand to be left out of anything taha We should have just told her we were in a play. End of story. Weez in a play, biatch. Dat Hamlet shit, ya know? We witnessed the failed flashmob and I have to say, the dancing wasn't terrible, but I'm glad I didn't decide to join in because they all looked like people dancing to music in their heads. You couldn't hear their music at all taha Japanese camera crew was everywhere, they were shoving cameras in everyone's faces the entire evening. Meh.

We met up with a girl that morning that had bought a ticket from Jali and we shared war (concert) stories. Best story; some chick admitted to masturbating at a Dir en grey concert LOL Hey, man, keep that in your pants until you're at home and you can comfortably masturbate to Kyos screeches and animal sounds in private. private. We don't need you getting off front row. I had to wonder though.....have I ever been headbanging next to someone jacking off? This is obviously now a very plausible concern. Also met a girl in the kinokuniya bookstore who taped us. I found out she was a youtuber, and it's a small world, because I love youtubers, and now I have someone new to follow~~

The Kyary show was SO MUCH CUTE AND SO MUCH FUN. I got to dance to all my favorite songs and her kid dancers were so cute. They make the best duck faces and expressions ever taha. Only one bad experience occured. Before the show, some angry looking chick who looked like she hated the world shoved Jali and in turn shoved me and the people beside me because she claimed Jali was "leaning on her" Uh...it's a concert, being that it seems you go to metal concerts (I'm just taking a wild guess)....I'm sure you know that this happens at concerts? Sometimes we are sardines. Bitch better be glad I wasn't in midget gangstah mode. She made me angry, but I was just like hey, Jali, let's go. And we somehow wiggled our way closer to the front. We were still several rows from the stage, but it wasn't a bad spot. Angry cloud was still back in her spot, raining anger and depression down on everyone around in the back taha Sorry, but this concert was about happiness and having fun, and that's just what we did. I was surprised at how many dude fans Kyary has! So much of the crowd was guys lol We had some fabulous crossdressers with great shiny platforms and guys that looked like they belonged at metal concerts like angry chick. I loved the diversity!

Our last day there we wandered around some more and ate at the Cake Boss cafe. Hoshit. That was some good cake. I wanted to bring several boxes of cakes home for my friends, but being as that wasn't possible, I just savored a nice chocolate mousse (almost wrote moose LOL) cake and thought of all the people I loved back home.....not eating this cake. I was eating it for them. Can you feel the selfless love here? taha Ugh, seriously, I'm bringing people back there next time though.

I was so sad coming home. I always almost cry when I tell people goodbye. We talked a bit about languages and moving plans and mexico plans in the cab ride to the airport then I had to hug Jali and let her go back to angry hockey country hurhur I mean Canada. And I went back to cowboy land. The taxi driver was super nice. While he was driving me to my terminal, he was talking about the Thai food he was bringing home because I was his last stop and told me I should try panaeng, something I haven't tried. That's weird because I love thai food and eat it every chance I get. But I'm gonna try this this weekend when I go out to eat with a friend at our favorite thai place. Thank you Mr. Nice Taxi Driver. :)

Anyway, I ended the trip depressed, sitting in the airport, facebooking everyone like crazy and then I heard about the Boston bombings on the televisions around the airport. Way to end the weekend, eh? My heart goes out to all the victims. Every day this world gets so much more confusing and insane. I don't understand people at this point.

This is a video from the chick in Kinokuniya. It pretty much sums up the awesome weekend. I'm just staring at the camera dumbly. I thought she was taking a picture LOL

So adorable lol

That chick behind her is totally checking out her ass taha

Haaaaaaaay

~~~~Kyaha~~~ Friendship IS magic.
Stealing because I love this shot taha
Had my own personal stylist and everything. It's the only way I roll LOL
Ruki, am I pretty yet??
*makes unnattractive animal noises* I look terrible here, but I didn't care. I was going to do a fashion monster pose but then KYARY happened and I'm just like "here's my gift. I love you. Do you need me to fetch the litter for you?" babble, bow, bow, grin stupidly. It was over too soon. I'm just so glad she liked the gift!
We were so happeh after the show. This was still in that euphoric afterglow taha
Thug life though.
CAKE. I nomed all that shizz up.
Hey look, it's Brad Pitt. I like night shots of NYC.
He's got such a pretty drumset~~
Aaaand, so that's it in a nutshell.
Pretty sure I'm leaving out a ton of little things, but that's the gist of everything.
Also, just because I'm camwhoring;
I'm going as Madame Red this year for Akon, and I was just playing around with the wig. I really like it taha I need to work on the makeup, but the hair and the dress are perfect. So ready for the con.
And now I need to get to bed and survive work somehow. I got sick after my NYC trip and now I'm just rolling around coughing >___< Bleh.
