[ How I'm feeling|
Feeling Uru-ish (horny and bored, and bitchy? x___X)]
[ What I'm listening to| Magic Man.....with a magic goose- Luda and the Bee Gees
Weeell, someone did something unsurprisingly nice for me the other day. Unsurprisingly because my bestie is one of the best people I know, and the most spontaneous taha He called me the other day and announced that I was going on a treasure hunt the next day...wtf? Random treasure hunt? I'm in. Not knowing what to expect, I drove to his house the next day, knock on his door, and he comes strolling out in a pirate outfit with a sword held high in the air, growling in a cheesy pirate voice "aaargh, time to search for some booty!" Needless to say I died laughing on the spot and so did the neighbors having a porch party across the street. They already know my friend is a strange crackpot, but this probably took the cake XD I did want some booty, both kinds of booty and told him so, whilst admiring his lovely outfit. He knows I have a thing for pirates and ninjas o_____o I'm waiting for him to jump out in ninja form one of these days now taha
So he leads me on an amazing pirate adventure full of memories and lovely clues. He'd written cryptic messages I had to find and interpret along the way....and I have to say, some were so hard -____- But worth it. The first clue was at the library I used to work at and the place we first met each other. At the time he was a crazy security gaurd bothering me at work, but we became fast friends and have become closer than ever over the years. That first clue was easy and I found the first treasure behind the bushes in the back of the library. It was a skull that's like a magic eight ball, it tells the fuuuture taha >___< Of course it was something random I would like, I would expect nothing less from him :D Another clue was the dividing line of Texas and Louisiana. "The point where Texas meets Louisiana and our thoughts waver across the soothing waves." Of course that was our favorite spot that we go to when we need to think. We just sit under the broken bridge and watch the waves come in. We've spent many sunsets and sunrises there together and seperate over the years when things have gotten crazy. I found a rock marked with an X and beneah the rock a beautiful set of gilded edged new Tarot cards x____X I was actually surprised at this gift and very touched -___-
The best gift of all was the very last treasure I found on our little island, Pecan Point. It was beside a pier in the rocks along the beach where we've done so much trekking and exploring. It was in a wine box full of fake gold pirate coins LMAO and when I dug through the coins I found antique little trinkets and pins that represented our friendship and our interests. There was also a set of gorgeous candelebra he had seen me admiring in his room full of random treasures -___- I can't believe he gave them to me! Now I need to find some candles to set in them !__! There was so many little meaningful gifts in the box, but really the best one of all was a small photo book full of our many adventures. There were sentimental and hilarious pictures set into it that had me laughing and nearly crying.
No one has ever done something like that for me, devised a whole treasure hunt for me -____- It made me ecstatic! I'm already devising something I can do for him in return. Though I'm taking him with me on my Las Vegas trip and I know we're probably going to get into trouble or do something crazy, I want to do something special specifically for him that will be just as good as the treasure hunt o__O
After the hunt me and the pirate explored some more of the island, climbed a tree and named it the Pervert Tree because the branches kept curling around us and touching my breasts and our asses. (and maybe I made the tree branches do some of the touching...whaaat) taha Damn perv. It was gorgeous though, just sitting in the tree and watching the water churned up and washing over the sand like small tidal waves as the barges and big ships went through the ship channel. We even saw a few dolphins swimming around after the ships had passed !_!
After we left the island, we went cruising through the old back neighborhoods that have been torn up and abanonded because of age and the hurricanes over the years and my friend stopped by an abandoned house he had been wanting to look through for some time but had been waiting for me to come with him to explore. We love to go through abandoned houses and such, it's the way my friend finds a lot of his treasures. Well get this...it was so eerie in that house, everything was on the floor completely torn and disheveled and in shambles. My friend called me from the living room area and he's staring at the wall with wide eyes when I come to stand next to him. Right there on the wall is a haunting black and white picture of two pretty black girls (twins from what it looked like) in white dresses. I could probably date the picture to the slave days...and yet...these girls who looked to be in their teens were light skinned and looked very well off. Their dresses were gorgeous and their hair was pinned up in white bows. They were no slaves and well to do, it was obvious. The picture was curling and crumbling at the edges in it's frame which was hand carved from wood and painted gold but battered and fading, a gorgeous piece in itself.
It looked like no one had touched the picture in ages. There was a thick film of dust and grime on it and when I touched the frame some of it flaked off. It was so strange that everything around us was on the floor scattered in a mess and there...the only thing on the wall was this errie picture amongst the rubble, perfect despite it's age. My friend wondered if it was nailed to the wall, and I don't know what posessed me, but I reached out and picked it from the wall easily o____O It just came off as if it wanted me to take it -____- Why had nothing disturbed the picture? Why had no one taken it before even?
We wondered for a moment if we should take it, and then we were hurrying out of the house and carefully placing it in the car. All the ride home, I just kept staring at the picture wondering who the girls were. You wouldn't understand how intense and how much character is in the photograph unless you were able to look at it directly. The girls just stare out at you hauntingly. We brought it inside and carefully cleaned it up thoroughly and then laid it to rest among all the other treasures in my friend's room. He said he wouldn't even sell it like he did most of things....even though the picture is probably very valuable, it's too lovely to even give away. We tried reseraching the house, it's earlier inhabitants, trying to make a connection to the picture but with no luck. There are no marks or signitures on the picture to give us any clues :/ The next time I'm over at my friend's house I'll take a picture of the photograph just to show what I'm talking about >___< I'll take a picture of the treasure chest as well ;D
And now....enough of the strange and eerie, I'm going back to work on Titania since my gold jewelry came in today. Nearly done!!!
