So I finally had my final interview this morning. I think it went well. It actually happened and there were no technical difficulties this time, so that alone makes me happy. As for the content, it was similar to the other interviews and I think my responses were similar too. I rambled a little bit as usual and talked myself in a circle in Japanese once or twice, but I do that in English too, haha. At any rate, I don't think I made any major mistakes and I think I had good answers to most of the questions. In sum, I did the best I could and now simply have to wait for the results.
One encouraging thing that was brought up in the interview is the fact that the company actually outsources to a freelance translation company in Tokyo in situations where the in-house translators have too much work on their hands, and they said they would be willing to get me in touch with them regarding possible employment if in the end I don't end up getting hired for this particular position. In that case, I would be moving to Tokyo and working as a freelance translator there until I find more permanent work, which doesn't sound like a bad proposition at all.
Anyway, everything is still up in the air for now so we just have to wait and see.
