I saw It's Kind of a Funny Story and Catfish with my son last night. I preferred the latter, he the former. Funny Story seemed too comforting to me--dealt with big issues and made them feel very manageable. Catfish dealt with smaller issues and made them feel somewhat manageable. Good performances in both. Only one used actors. Both were supposedly based on true life events.
