Coming to Sigua Valley seemed like a great idea when Oliver first brought it up. Amelia and I are very keen on traveling to new places and I figured this would be one we could add to our wall. I guess I didn't really think it completely through because I'm actually kind of bored. I miss the bowling alleys, clubs, and other community lots with a lot of people. It's been about three weeks and we are just NOW starting to get some tourists.
Amelia has been holding on and throws herself into different crafts. She used to run a ballet studio and I think she's been dreaming of possibly starting one out here. In the meantime she's been playing some music with our piano that we had shipped over.
Oliver came by after disappearing for a good chunk of the week to let us know about Juliet being knocked up. It was pretty shocking, but he didn't seem the least bit distressed. I told him to do what he had to do and wished him luck.
When Amelia heard of the pregnancy, however, she kind of went into robot-mode. I know that she's been wanting to start a family but our funds haven't quite made that easy for us. She's also been dreaming of being rich so I don't think a kid would help us out right about now. She ended up throwing herself into the pottery wheel that Tiffany gave to her.
Our conversations were pretty forced for a while. Meals were short and our topics were very generic. I even offered to go hiking with Amelia and we just ended up coming home with poison ivy all over.
When Harmony was born, however, Amelia finally broke the ice and asked for us to start a family. I laughed and told her to stop drinking the water. She sighed and just stormed out while I finished up with my research.
It wasn't until Juliet and Harmony visited that things changed. Amelia fell in love with our niece and I have to admit that so did I. A part of me thinks the whole thing was orchestrated to get me to change my mind.
Amelia made us lunch that day with a huge grin on her face.
The rest of the week was very boring and flew past us. With Oliver temporarily out of the house tending to Juliet, Amelia and I ventured a little out of the bedroom. Needless to say her pottery wheel was a little neglected.
Eventually, it was the toilet that was getting all the love.
