Roy's recovering at the moment from a mission. Lian isn't thrilled to be around her mother, but is coping just the same. We all hope to have the asylum process worked out soon.
Did you see the papers about a couple of weeks ago regarding a betting pool being closed? That would be Roy announcing to the world that we're engaged. It took 4 months of a 13 year long friendship and occational courtship to get there, but...Well, I'm still amazed he accepted. Lian is thrilled, of course. There haven't been a date set or specific plans at this point.
Querl is from a race of people that value logic, efficiency, and science above all else - especially emotions. Kory is attempting patience more than usual. Vic is practicing patience with them both for thier differences and because of the modification that Dr. Dox has made to the lab. He just sort of takes for granted his "improvements," will work and that they will be accepted. Currently, he's out on assignment, according to Mar'i and this has given us a chance to see what he has done with the place. (No, I've had his job. Didn't like it then and wouldn't like it now.)
Gar is doing well. He watches Lian on occasionally. He misses you. We can tell.
Keep doing well in school and thank you for the vote of confidence.
You and Roy are engaged? That's fabulous. I'm so happy for you. I knew he must love you a great deal to take the kind of risks he did. Lian's thrilled, I'll bet. She's really bonded to you. I'd actually commented there was a resemblance between the two of you to Gar. He had to correct me in saying that you weren't blood-related to the kid.
Yeah. I can see Querl and Kory having some heavy disagreements. Maybe Querl can pick up a few people skills, and Kory can mellow out a little. I'm sure Querl's way has its advantages, but it sounds amazingly constrictive. Well, the Commune would probably make his head spin. Not much privacy there or a lot of use for tech. And if Kory and I can embarrass Gar with our late-night conversations, I'm sure they'd make Querl nervous.
I miss Gar, too. Miss his silly jokes and his big smile. Miss sitting on the Tower roof and checking out sunsets. Oh, heck. I miss the Tower and California in general. Gotham's a great place to get lost in, but I get homesick a lot.
As for leading a team being a tough job? Well, it's nothing I'd ever want. I'd keep second-guessing myself, and the idea of ordering friends into dangerous situations? *shudder* No thanks. I know you have done the "team leader" thing, too. Um...this probably isn't news you want, but a lot of Tara's memories "stuck." It's kinda like watching a movie, but I can remember her time in the Titans and all the things she thought.

I'd rather not talk to Gar about it. He's beat himself up enough over that unpleasant woman. Do...do you have nightmares about that incedent, too?

Lian's mother is actually a "guest," with us. Long involved story but with your activist streak I'm sure you've heard of Quraq and the bomb that was planted in thier capital. Cheshire wasn't always like this from what I've been told, but we're trying to work something out for her so she no longer needs to live in fear and rage. She does that and people die.
No, she's not happy with the engagement either, but we're working with that.
You probably know more about that time than I do actually. I know I was there and lived through it. The problem is I was attacked by the entity that attacked us - Dark Angel - and as a result my memory is largely based on what two other people recall. My sister wasn't in man's world at that time and Flash was having trouble with his powers as you may have seen.
To the team leader thing...I'm still amazed Robbie...Robin (Nightwing) did that work for so long and for so long. Roy is also incredibly talented there as well. Vic and Kory also have that spirit to them. Me? I'm told things work better when I'm here, but I'm not sure what they mean.
The nightmares? Yes. I was in Cheshire's mind for about a week, a few days longer then the rest of you it appears. I saw a lot of things that...Well, she has strange hate and affection for what Roy and Lian have become and her confusion enrages her. I...saw a lot of things no one wants to see about her best friend and lover. You know the truth, Rory. Your truth. Gar's truth. You just saw someone else's idea of it - and you have to consider the source.
I'll keep you in mind for flower stuff and cooking, definantly. Gar is really handy at this sort of thing too, so he might have some ideas. Right now, I have to hammer out details with the groom.
