Chapter 24: Inoo the Kawaii Tenshi brings back the Akumas.

Arriving in front of the building in the middle of Nagoya,

“Hmm…Ayame is currently living alone in here?” Yabu asked, unsure of the situation in front of him.

“Yes.” Megumi, Erika and Inoo answered together, “We’re all counting on you, Yabu!”

“EH!?” Yabu exclaimed, “I’m suppose to go up there alone!?”

“She’s not my girlfriend ne~♥” Inoo explained in a sing song manner, “Unless you don’t want her anymore.”

“Urusai!” Yabu retorted almost immediately, “where did you learn that from!?”

“The Akumas~♪” Inoo replied playfully as he pushed Yabu into the lift.

It’s almost midnight and Yabu inhaled deeply before he rang the doorbell but he realized there was no sound coming from it. Puzzled, Yabu decided to knock on the door,

“Ayame!!” Yabu called out, “I’m Yabu Kota! Please open up the door!”

After a few seconds of waiting, Yabu was got kind of worried. Instead he tried at the doorknob…to his surprise, it wasn’t locked! Pushing the door open in a rush, he called out frantically for his loved one, “Ayame!! Where’re you??” he yelled as he tried to switch on the lights but it failed to work, “a blackout?” he mumbled to himself.

“Yabu?” he heard a faint whimper, “Yabu-Kun??” it was a little louder this time as Yabu scanned the room for Ayame.

“Ayame?” Yabu called out to her as he took out his phone, tired of groping about in the dark, “Ayame!!! Call my name!! Call my name one more time!!”

“Yabu… Yabu-Kun…” Ayame sobbed and that was when Yabu found her retreating to the corner of the room!

“Ayame!!” Yabu heaved a sigh of relieve as he shone his cell phone light onto her little figure.

Jumping over the coffee table, he went on his knees to look at Ayame in the eye, caressing her face gently and taking a good look at her before pulling her into his arms, holding her tightly in his arms as she sobbed and clung onto him, thankful that he was there.

Taking in the scent of her shampoo, and rubbing his cheek against her silky shoulder length hair, “I missed you…” he blurted, “I missed you…”

Pulling herself away from Yabu, Ayame asked through small hiccups as Yabu wiped away her tears with his hands, “Y-Yabu… N-Not going… B-Back to… K-Karina, ne?”

“If you don’t like it, then I won’t go back to her… yakusoku…” Yabu said with a smile as a tear slid down his face, he was just grateful that he had managed to find Ayame and nothing else had mattered at that moment.

“Y-You won’t… B-Break your… P-Promise this... T-Time?”

“Never!” Yabu replied firmly as he caressed Ayame’s face, “I’m never going to leave you, you understand? Not even if Karina comes to look for me”

“H-Honto?” Ayame looked at him with those big watery eyes of hers, and blinked at Yabu.

“Honto ni…” Yabu whispered into her ear as he embraced her once more, “Daisuki, Ayame… daisuki desu.”

After fixing the blackout because of a mere ‘trip’, Inoo, Megumi and Erika decided to stay overnight at Ayame’s place. “Now do you trust me?” Megumi asked, “That I truly want to help?”

Yabu looked at Inoo and then back at Ayame who had been holding his hand ever since fifteen minutes ago, he let out an exaggerated sigh and nodded his head, “Alright, I trust you.”

Settling into the sofa with Ayame (and her one eyed bunny) in his arms, Yabu asked, “So… what are you guys planning to do next?”

“First… we should make a trip to visit Sakurai Sho tomorrow… and then, the big problem comes…” Erika sighed, “Megumi wishes to help Hikaru… but then again, I have no idea how to help him.”

Staring at Inoo worriedly, Yabu said, “Their friendship was ruined because of me and Takaki…. If I can do anything to help…”

Before he could go on, Inoo interrupted his friend, “Daijobu…I’ll handle Hika-chan~”

“Ayame…?” Megumi asked with eyes that were glittering with concern for the little girl who was busy rubbing her eyes, “Are you sleepy?”

“I’ll accompany her to bed…” Erika offered, “You guys can continue to think of plans to get the others together…”

“What are you planning, Inoo-Chan?” Yabu asked curiously, “how are you planning to get Hikaru to return?”

“Lend me helicopter.” Inoo requested as Yabu looked on in bewilderment.

“Chotto matte, Inoo-Chan…” Yabu stammered, “why do you need a helicopter!?”

“Just lend me~♪”

“Ja… what about Daiki?” Megumi asked casually and all of a sudden, the atmosphere became slight awkward as Megumi shifted uncomfortably in her seat, “What’s the matter?”

“Megumi… Daiki isn’t as easily approachable as he seems to be… neither is Takaki…” Yabu explained, “If they aren’t willing to forgive you… then… they’ll choose not to see you at all…” Yabu paused for a moment as he tried to interpret Megumi’s facial expression before he continued, “we might have spared you and the school this time round but I cannot guarantee if there’ll be a second time.”

An eerie silence filled the room as the three exchanged glances, worried about what they should do next…

~*~

“Is she asleep yet?” Yabu asked in a soft whisper as he opened the door slowly, letting light from the living room stream into Ayame’s bedroom.

“Yes…” Erika replied as Yabu gently lay beside Ayame and tucked his arm underneath Ayame’s head so that she would be lying on it, “Ano ne… it seems like I was wrong about you guys…”

Yabu smiled as he stroked Ayame’s sleeping face and replied, “It has been our fault in the first place… you are not to be blamed.”

“Demo…!” Erika insisted, “I’m still not forgiving you guys!!”

Yabu sniggered as Ayame snuggled close to him, “up to you… it doesn’t really matter to me anyway.”

“Nande…?”

“This is something that you have to resolve by yourself isn’t it?” Yabu explained coldly as Erika leaned back onto the wall and muttered in a terrified manner, “It’s back.”

~*~

“Eh? Erika-San?” Megumi called out to Erika, puzzled, “Why do you look so pale…?”

“T-The Akuma… is back.” Erika mumbled as she stared at Yabu who look ever so lovingly now, stroking Ayame’s hair whilst she slept…

~*~

“I still think that this is a bit wrong no matter how you look at it…” Megumi muttered as she sat in the car along with Erika, Ayame and Yabu, “Are you sure that Hikaru will come back just like that?”

“I’m sure that Inoo has his ways.” Yabu replied with Ayame still sound asleep in his arms.

However, little do they know that Hikaru was actually sinking into his little world of Inoo-Chan in his own room…

~*~

Sitting by the window, Hikaru sipped at a glass of wine coolly before sending his maids out of his room. The moment the door was shut, Hikaru crashed onto the floor, sobbing, “Oh, Inoo-Chan~~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

“Kissu~” he heard a way too familiar voice calling out to him.

Hikaru narrowed his eyes and stayed still for a moment before he muttered to himself in confusion, “I-Inoo…?” then, he bolted upright and screamed, “Oh no~~~~~!!!! I must be missing Inoo so much that I’m hallucinating~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

“Kissu~ Kissu~ Kissu~” Inoo’s voice echoed in Hikaru’s mind as he ran out of his room in horror, “Kissu~”

“Somebody get me a psychiatrist!!!” Hikaru cried as he rushed down the hallway and out of his mansion, “Inoo’s voice is haunting me~~!!!!!!!!!!!” then, stopping in his tracks when he heard the loud chopping noise of a helicopter, he looked up and saw Inoo waving at him from above!!!! “Now I’m seeing Inoo-Chan~!!!!” He whimpered as he covered his eyes in horror whilst the helicopter descended, “Oh no… I have an incurable disease~~~”

“Kissu~ Kissu~” Inoo continued to play with the helicopter’s microphone even when Hikaru was whining away some distance away from him.

“I’m dead.” Hikaru muttered and fell onto the ground, believing that he was dead.

“Hika-Chan~” Inoo called out in a sing song voice to his best friend as he kneeled beside him, “Inoo-Chan desu yo~^^”
Hikaru’s eyelids fluttered open and gaped at Inoo in disbelief, “I’m not sick!?!?! I’m not hallucinating?!?!? Inoo is here!?!?!??” he exclaimed.

Then, as if to confirm his suspicions, he pressed his own lips onto Inoo’s and cried, “It IS INOO~!!!!!!!!” and… he failed to see Inoo fainting in front of him.

The poor innocent Akuma had not expected a kiss to be his first greeting from his best friend the moment he sees him.

~*~

“So… Hikaru kissed Inoo…?” Erika asked with a weird expression.

“It’s quite normal amongst the Akumas so there isn’t really much to be surprised about,” Yabu explained as if it was perfectly normal, “Hikaru pretty much loves to kiss everyone… before Inoo came, he kissed Daiki a lot.”

Narrowing his eyes at his best friend who was now shifting in his seat uncomfortably, Inoo puffed up his cheeks.

“Yabu…” Hikaru tried to change the subject, “Let’s talk about something else…”

“Okay.”

“For example…” Hikaru suggested calmly, “WHY IS COUNTRY GIRL IN MY HOUSE?!?!??!?” he hollered at the top of his voice as he stood up agitatedly.

“Because she’s not outside?” Erika suggested hopefully.

“Don’t be an idiot.” Hikaru replied almost immediately, narrowing his eyes at Erika, “I’m NOT going to help HER anymore… after all the trouble that she had caused… she ought to be glad that she’s still alive!!!”

“Not even when I wish to bring the Akumas back?” Megumi asked, “Don’t you wish to be back with your friends?”

“I’ll skin you alive if you talk one more time.” Hikaru cut her off coldly with his arms crossed as he sat down.

“Yappari…” Megumi whispered to herself, “Once and Akuma… forever an Akuma…”

“Somebody tape up her mouth.” Hikaru instructed ruthlessly and with a snap of his fingers, a few maids went up to her and started to tape her mouth, “And don’t you dare take that tape off!”

Megumi nodded anxiously as Ayame spoke up, “Ano… Hikaru-San?”
Hikaru turned over to Ayame who clutched onto her one eyed bunny tighter than ever, “Are your friends important to you?” she asked timidly as she looked at Hikaru, blinking hardly, “Megumi… I think… deserves a second chance…” she continued, squirming in her seat, “Hikaru-San…”

“Ayame…” Yabu interrupted her speech and said, “It’s enough…” then turning towards Hikaru, Yabu said, “Hika… You should know by now how much Daiki and Takaki might be despising her… but do you really wish for them to remain like that forever?”

“I…” Hikaru hesitated before taking another glance at Megumi, “I taped up her mouth because she wasn’t wearing any lipstick!!!” he pointed towards her, “Now tell me what you have in mind, you stupid country girl!”

“I think my nickname just gotten longer…” Megumi sighed pathetically after peeling off her tape.

Upon reaching Ayame’s house to ‘settle’ stuff with her brother, Sho was shooting daggers at Yabu, intimidating him while Ayame sat in the middle of the two who were eyeing at each other. “Ano ne...” Ayame sighed but then was cut off by her older brother,

“Ayame!! Who told you to leave with this guy!?”

“If Ayame left with me, it means she accepted me and trust me and that’s why you shouldn’t interfere with our relationship anymore!” Yabu retorted, taking a gamble in this debate.

“I think…” Ayame tried to continue her sentence but was once again interrupted by her older brother who slammed on the table agitatedly and shouted, “I’m her older brother and have the right to stop her from dating YOU!”

“Then have you ever spared a thought for Ayame!?”

“What rights-”

“ANO NE~!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!” Ayame screamed interrupting her brother and stood up, getting tired of the scene in front of her but just when she was about to talk, her grandmother hobbled into the room and set down the drinks on the coffee table before saying, “My… my… isn’t this guy gorgeous~ is he your boyfriend, Sho?”

“Ba-Chan!!!” Sho moaned, “He’s not my boyfriend!!!”

“H-HOMO!!??!?” The others screamed, retreating to a corner of the room fearfully.

“I’M NOT!!!!!!” Sho screamed before he glared at the others and let out a yell as he stormed back to his room in frustration.

“My… my… that always seem to work ne~” Ayame’s grandmother smiled at Ayame kindly and did a peace sign at them before taking small steps back into the kitchen.

“So… that means that we’re accepted?” Yabu asked, terribly confused.

“I think so…” The others muttered.
