Anime North Report
Awesome weekend.
Things didn't work so well with CC and I ended up at the hotel one more night than planned. But that was sort of good because otherwise I'm sure I would have been sick as a dog and miserable all Saturday.
And poor CC; only made it one half day out of the three that he pre-paid for. Death to all who reschedualed his filming gig.
My cosplays went well and was quite popular both Friday and Sat. Haven't found any pictures of me, but I'm sure they'll pop up over the next week or so.
I finally got my detergent shirt and a pair of Orochimaru earrings that I've been wanting for months for cosplay. Got some FF:AC fanart, and some geek buttons for my Generation Otakubag (nearly have the whole handle all buttons from three cons so far). Also grabbed a ReBoot Artbook AND got Jim Su to sign it. Also got a commission sketch from him too. <3
A group of friends and I also went to go see Pirates 3 on Saturday. In cosplay. That was fun. ^^ Later in the evening, I also got the opportunity to go to the new AN feature of the Masked ball. I didn't have a mask, but I heard they were handing some out at the door. We also had to be dressed up. I borrowed a friend's cosplay suit and was all dressed up for the ball. The ball was a total flop IMO; glorified highschool dance. AND it was an hour late, not that I was surprised at this. Everything is late at AN when it comes to the big important events due to poor planning and/or laziness (the latter was this case). Masks were not ready to be handed out and they did about three ball-like dances as a group (which was painful to watch those who had rythem and saw those who didn't) and then they played contemporary music. Um... yay? So I got my free photo and left fairly early with a friend of mine.
After leaving the con on Sunday, we went to the usual Markham Mall. I bought a Hitsugaya Bankai figurine, Wind Waker OST and a chinese Final Fantasy: Advent Children book. I don't think it's official, but it does have english translation and some nice pictures from the movie... so I'm happy. Bought the usual mushroom/garlic/cheese/chicken crepes and strawberry bubble tea (bought a double order for the trip home). Drove into the driveway at about 1:30 Monday morning.
Over all, a very good con. I look forward to next year, and am planning my next year's costume construction already.
Yesterday, I finally chose a side in Dofus and picked Bonta for my main character. I'm working on the lvling of my alignment to get to lvl 20 and become a priest.
AND, yesterday after a Wabbit Castle run, I was made into an Officer of my guild Oathbound! There can be only four and I was there at the birth of the guild itself. I'm really excited about this promotion, because Officer is the only promotion that I could ever get since Treasurer was right under it.
Now I can kick stupid people from the guild. W00t!
