I'm glad it isn't just me. I was wondering as he kept on asking those random questions. I don't think I gave him enough information to get anything on me, but yeah... kinda worry-some.
If it ain't someone I know or asking for one of my family members, I usually hang up. We've also signed up for the American Do-Not-Call list. I don't know if Canada has one D:
The phones in my house have caller ID too, if the given info isn't someone we know, or goes as 'unknown caller' I just don't even answer. If they really need to talk to me, they can leave a voice mail.
Yeah, my dad just hangs up on people like that. Or he closes the door on them, like he did to the Direct Energy guy who came to the door. If DE visits you, don't show them your hydro bill -- they're making note of your account number and signing you up regardless, and then you're stuck. They scammed my dad a few years ago.
