2006 World Cup
Couldn't sleep well last night. Mum was watching the finals and somehow I woke up in the middle of extra-time (26 minutes) to catch a little. Was a little excited coz we were holding on the the championship ticket. So near yet so far... Too tired, and i went back to sleep just after a few minutes. Dreamt that it went to penalties, and the final score was 9-1 in favour of France. Got woken up by a sms saying that we've won. Got up just in time to see lilian thuram shedding tears of sadness. I felt so bad.
On one hand I would love Italy to win since we're betting it'll be the champions. On the other hand, it was sad to see the French oldies playing their final game. Football is like that. There's always a winner and a loser. It can't be a win win situation.
One consolation is the cash coming in this morning. The odds were pretty good - 1:11. And we were very lucky to somehow pick the winner out of 32 teams! What's the probability of getting it correct? 3%. Hmm..
