We are looking for a place to stay. Yup. After spending quite a bit on a car, a house is next on the cards. Of course, the car is partially financed by daddy dearest, who settled the downpayment (more than half the cost) and the loan. And my job? To send him a cheque every month.

And now another headache. Ever since we told his parents we wish to get married preferably next year, there's been talk about getting a place to stay. Obviously his parents are very keen to kick him out of the house!

The new car came in handy when we had to travel from one show-flat to another. What convenience! Of course, it came at a price.

Where did we go?

Montview at Mount Sinai - too big hence a little above our budget. Nice quiet residential estate. A little far from Dover, but walkable. I quite like the bright feeling though.

Marbella at Mount Sinai - well, the ONLY unit available is #04-04. Not that I'm very particular about numbers. The drawback is that the master bedroom faces a Chinese temple. Yup. Direct view. I seriously can't imagine waking up to a temple. And imagine the incense and noise. That's a big no-no. In fact we are discounting this project as all the 2 bedrooms units face the temple. Benefit is that it's 5 mins walk to Dover.

City Square in the City - too messy for us, too near some dodgy places, traffic is bad. So many units. But near shopping and MRT! Price is all right. A friend got an apartment there.

Gladeview?! at Kent/Rangoon Road - It's also near Farrer Park MRT station. A quiet residential estate, but it's very HDB. No point paying a premium for private when your neighbours are HDB folks right? I'm getting snobbish here. But hey! I need to sell the property in a few years' time.

Iridium at Novena - Nice everything! But the affordable ones are a little small, about 700sqft for a 2 bedrooms unit. Also, only 3 such units left. Nope, all gone by today. The agent called us up and informed that they were all sold. Asked if we're interested in the 3 bedrooms unit. Too expensive. Can't afford

Parc Emily - This one got us all excited, even though. In fact we are seriously considering this project. Already eyeing a particular unit. Good thing is it's near town. Accessible to MRT stations, nearest being Little India and Dohby Ghaut/Bugis about 15 mins walk away. A big concern would be Sundays where all the migrant workers congregate and the numerous buses parked at MacKenzie Road. I know I'm being a little racist here. Of course I can avoid it by using the other road. The designs of the unit are quite practically, and unfortunately too practical for us. There's no bath facilities! Can I request for a bathtub?! I also like the fact that we can afford the top unit, which I figured would be quieter. No elephants thumping the ceiling. No dropping of whatsoever. No dragging of chairs/tables/etc.

We've that excited that we drove past it again tonight. I wanted to check out the exact facing, etc. Quite happy with what I saw. ;)

I'm getting tired... time to zzz...
