Mom Update
My mom is still in the ICU at Akron City but according to the nurses she is doing better and they are slowly weaning her off the ventilator. They just told me that she was off the vent for about 1.5 hours today and that each day they are trying for slightly longer.
As it stands, I will not be changing my travel plans; hopefully she will be back in the nursing home by Christmas. Visiting her nursing home is a lot more pleasant that visiting the hospital. I just wish I could talk to her and let her know that I am thinking of her and would be visiting if I was there. It may be silly but I feel like the world's worst person right now because I can't be there even though I'll be there at the end of the month.
