Merpy Chrisnakwanzyusoleidakah!
This weekened has been all about packing and getting into my new apartment and it has gone swimmingly! Everything is packed up and ready to go on Wednesday and I have even gotten quite a bit of it already moved into the new place. I have enough things there now that I spent my first night in my new place night. It was heaven!! No dripping toilet(this one actually flushes!) No climbing the gate at 11pm! No mildew smell! Quite possibly the largest bath tub I have ever encountered! A body of water(swimming pool) for me to stare at in Piscean contemplation! And that's just the apartment. The neighborhood is also amazing with good chinese food, a Subway, an old-timey pizza parlor and, best of all, a new age book/tzchotkes store called the Psychic Eye right across the street from my apartment. I am so looking forward to settling into this neighborhood and soaking it in.
Kitty update time. I will be getting Mercutio sometime on the morning of December 31st, making him the best Hannukah present ever! I can't wait to have my kitty with me. I went and visited the cat ladies at PetCo yesterday and Michelle, the lady who has been watching Merc while he waited to be adopted was telling me how disappointed the little guy was when he wasn't brought along to be shown to potential owners. He's a really outgoing cat and didn't like being left behind. I feel bad about that but really glad that it is less than a week til he is mine, all mine!
I'm at work right now and aside from some more phone difficulties it's been a real pleasant day so far. One of my co-workers was recently up in Santa Barbara and saw a madrigal group performing. Knowing my background, she got me two of their CDs for Hannukah! One is yule songs such as Gaudete and Masters in this Hall(the song the goes with Female Saylor for those that dance) and the other has such favorites as Fire,Fire and Sing We and Chant it. Oh, and you have never truly lived until you've heard a madrigal arrangement of A Lusty Young Smith(aka the Jingle Bang song). It rocketh forsooth!
EDIT: Renn and Dmetri, this is the madrigal group that sang for St. E's at Ojai, the one that let us come over and sing with them. I am going to try and contact them to see how/if one cane come and play with them :)
Anon for now..I may post some more later if bored.
