A Singing Bird in an Open Cage
As of 10am next Wednesday, I will be back at work at USC.
After a long week of fearing, fretting and figuring I was finally able to come to the conclusion that I really can handle things from California at this point and with my sister's agreement to move back to the house for awhile to take care of the pets, I have gone forward with plans to return to my life.
On the Mom side of things: She is still going to be needing to be in a nursing facility for awhile and the doctor confided in me today that he doesn't know if returning to her house is ever going to be an option. I am going to look at the nursing facility he has recommended tomorrow as one of my errands I have to run between now and when I leave on Sunday. I just hope and pray I can get everything done before I leave but I know that if I don't there is always going to be another option, another way of tackling it..especially in this age of cell phones and internet.
To all my Columbus peeps: I'm sorry that I didn't get down to see you guys a second time but there's no way with all I have on my plate that I'll be able to get down there before I go. My evenings will still be open if anyone cares to visit up here but I know everyone's got there own things going on these days.
To my L'ville/Lex peeps: I didn't get to see you. Boo! :( I hope you guys have a great time on Rose's b-day and know that I miss you.
To my California peeps: I'll see you lovelies soon...much hanging out definitely needs to be done. Oh, and Aunt Y, I'll get you the flight details soon..looks to be mid-afternoonish for arrival time.
I want to thank everyone that left such lovely comments on my "freak out" entry from last week. I'm sorry that I didn't reply to them sooner but the last few days were Hell trying to figure out how I was going to make this all work.
Also thank you to everyone that has been keeping my family in their thoughts and prayers this whole time. We aren't out of the woods yet but we would have never gotten this far without all the assistance we have been getting from family and friends. Love y'all!
