I thought this was just N Korea testing the extent of China's overlordship and gauging China's reaction to N Korea's possible invasion of S Korea in the short-term-- seeing as China's reaction to N Korea's defying it and carrying out tests in respect of nuclear weaponry would give ample idea as to China's reaction to the possible invasion of S Korea by N Korea. Icing on the cake was the jolly fact that Japan's PM is just into his second week as premier or so...
But this whole 'declaration of war' thing is just going way beyond what I expected. What, N Korea's actually contemplating attacking Japan and S Korea in the short term? If so, the economies around here are going to go bust, everyone's going to want something in the region of nuclear weaponry and China's probably yelling down the telephone to the Dear Leader right about now. Not that the Dear Leader would care if he's trying to leave behind a legacy-- very East Asian thing to do. Great Leader couldn't unite Korea and attack evil enemy Japan, so Dear Leader will do so and leave his name in history (and be better than his father, yessums).
They're mad, mad, mad.
