I had met her before. But not like this. This time it was different. She was older this time. I was older. Time had dealt us both with different joys, heartaches, trials, blessings, trouble and pain. We had grown, each in our own way; and, surprisingly, each in a way that would mysteriously point us toward one other. We were two different people, but with common ground. And each of us had our own separate monster.
In the short time allotted, we played. We laughed, we sang... we found each other. Love found us; she came for us and took us by surprise. We lost care for the world and found care in a life that silently haunted us.
Time, then, dealt us, once again, two different cards. But this time it was different. She was older. I was older. We knew more, and we had a hope for something better. The future was not clear, but we didn't need that now. It wasn't easy, but we took the difficult road, not knowing where it would lead or when. Our monsters ever present, we embarked on the road.
The best was now to happen, and the worst. The highest and the lowest. And Love, she lingered in an abiding green light; ever watchful. Little did we know that one small moment without Love could change everything...
