Goals

Goals are important things to set. They give you an idea of where you are at in all areas of life, such as confidence, interpersonal relationships, lifestyle, appearance, diet and exercise, and health (emotional, physical, or overall health). Someone once told me that making goals or talking about how you want to change, is silly and meaningless-if you want to do something about it, just go out and do it.  I did not, and still do not, agree with that statement, for if you want to be successful at something, you should definitely think things through. Make a list in your head, write it down on loose leaf paper, type it out on a blog. Or better yet, make daily notes to yourself as reminders, and stick them to your calender, mirror, computer, wherever you will see them. It is best to start out at a level you are capable of, then as time goes by, step it up a notch!

So here are my goals:
  • Wake up at a decent hour (7:30 or 8) and go for a walk while it is still cold-ish outside, every day
  • Go to pilates class every Friday @ 5:30 PM
  • Fight the urge to take long naps. If needed, just take a 30 min power nap
  • Lose 15 pounds by my birthday
  • Eat more salads and fruits, and drink more water
  • Do not skip breakfast
  • Take more time to talk to friends, online or otherwise, rather than just keep to myself
  • Enjoy the holiday while it lasts, but still continue to look for work for when the summer is over
  • Volunteer at animal shelter, or start walking dogs, if I still have trouble finding a job
Well that is enough goals for now, and I think they sound reasonable. They are all definitely things I could benefit from.
