I'm moving to Nashville. Everything was just too good there this weekend. And everyone in the town is a starving artist already so I'd fit in beautifully. They also pay their teachers better in Tennessee than they do even in Georgia. As I am sans-drawl, I could be an intellectualite or sophisticate. And it's the prettiest place I've ever been to. The whole drive from birmingham up is just one more WOW landscape after another. Read the hitchhikers guide to the galaxy and you'll understand what I say when I say that whoever made that landscape clearly knew what he was doing.
But anyway
One of the songwriters/session leaders at the conference I attended this weekend was a young lady (26) by the name of Ms. Vicky Beeching. (She wrote "yesterday today and forever" for any P&Wers out there) She had moved from across the pond a year ago when she was picked up by sparrow records. She was a solid guitar player, a good pianist, she has a degree in theology from Oxford, and her voice was UNBELIEVABLE. I talked to her a couple of times because I'm a dork and wanted to know about her guitars and I asked her about her band or lack there-or. She said it was in the process of being formed...that all she had was a bass player...and that if i gave her my email address she'd drop me a line some time about perhaps trying out.
One more reason to move to Nashville.
That was my weekend.
Who's coming with me? I don't know a single person in the town and am not all that brave. BB King has a bar there, and I'll buy you dinner at the spaghetti factory if you move up. It will be good I promise.
