In 2000, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) ruled to grant non-commercial organizations with licenses to operate Low Power FM radio stations. The Brick Radio Collective was established in 2001 by a group of individuals committed to gaining an FCC permit and creating a community radio station in Louisville. The Brick Radio Collective is a spin-off of the Brick House, a non-profit community center located in Old Louisville. Four years after its inception, and still committed to its initiative, the radio collective is on the verge of realizing its vision.

On April 29th, 2005, the FCC awarded a construction permit for a Low Power FM radio station to the Brick House. The station was assigned to the frequency 92.7. According to FCC guidelines, the collective has 18 months from the date that the permit was issued to get the station on the air.

So, to assist in raising the much need funds, WXBH, the future call letters of the station, has put together CD of local artists, with all the profit going to the station.

The release party is April 8th, at 6 p.m., at the Brickhouse, 1101 S. 2nd Street.

The CD will feature....
