(no subject)
Strange world.
So, I posted yesterday that I was going to seek out musicians. I was contacted by two bands since then, and I really don't know how to feel about either of them.
Band #1 -- Canopic
our sound is hard to pin down, ask almost anyone.... some people say melvins-esk, but more metal. some people say we sound like any number of patton bands, alot of people say we have a striking resemblance to isis and nuerosis, which we probably believe is closest to the truth. we tend to say we are progressive art metal (read: no chugga, or mosh parts to speak of really)
Translation...."we sound like Tool."
Next.
Band #2 -- Kangaroo
We play your basic indie/pop rock and then we sprinkle it with noisy, sometimes mathy goodness. can't really compare the sound to any one band in particular, plus its still pretty early in our inception. But we are particularly and collectively fond of the Oxes, Wire, Mission of Burma, Shellac, Pavement, Cap'n Jazz, Mclusky, ACDC, and everything else you might infer from those.
Translation..."we play emo."
However, in the email, the guy also listed bands he's into, and he has picked all the right ones. (I'm sure I don't need to list them here.)
But, I really wasn't searching for a band to join, per say, I just wanted musicians to form a new band. So, back to the drawing board, I suppose.
