so yesterday i felt like making something. obviously something simple; i dont have the attention span for something epic *looks at failed bookcase >_>*. so i decided to raid the pile of cardboard boxes in the basement of my apartment building and cut them up, make them pretty, and use them.
the first thing i made was a jewelry holder. since my jewelry collection is growing (esp necklaces), i need somewhere to put them that, like, doesnt take up what little surface area i have in my room. and since ive always wanted one of those necklace stands where you can hang your necklaces and bracelects on different posts, i decided to make my own. i took some cardboard and taped about three layers together. then i covered it in this japanese-style paper my friend had given me for my final that i never used. then i used a bunch of pushpins and made little hooks for me to hang my jewelry on (i had to stack the cardboard so the pins wouldnt stick out from the back). i then pinned that to my wall.
that was last night. today, half-asleep, i made something similar: it has pins on the bottom for things like my keys, but most of it is made up of ribbon laced across the board. kinda like one of those photo/document holders ive always wanted to get at ross. well, this is the next best thing. :)
look! its my nino gachapan keychain from the je meetup! :)
lastly i made a photo frame. now, since im not too particular about perfection, this one didnt take as long as it should have. and the worst part: some idiot made the frame hole big enough to fit a regular 4x6 picture EXACTLY. so, itll pop out or show off the white bg. LAME. i wanna make more of these, but if theyre to give away i need to pay more attention to details like that. and try to make my cutting lines straight. XD
