So yesterday was our double compeition. It was wayyy too early to leave, but whatever. Our call time was 7:30.
We performed at 1:45 for the first competition. We were, once again, the only ones in 4A. Actually this time it didn't bother me as much. It may have been because it was like a practice run, or maybe it was because the people that went to accpet our awards were some of the funniest ones in the band so their salutes were AWESOME!
So then we drove an hour from West Stokes to Ledford High School. We watched different bands from 2A and 3A perform. Andrew and I started talking to a guy who mentioned that he couldn't wait to see our show, and his son has been playing trumpet since he was 8 I think he's like 11 now. We got back to the buses at 6:30 to get dressed, eat snacks, unpack instruments, and warm-up. We performed at 8:30. That was the BEST crowd response we've gotten so far. Everyone was sooo hyped after that. It was one of those times where you didn't care if you got last place because you did your best and the audience loved it.
So the award cerimony was fun because we were against N.Lincoln (who had beaten us earlier that day), Mooresville, and Broughton for 5A. We got:
1st Place: Marching & Maneuvering
1st Place: General Effect
2nd Place: Music
2nd Place: Drum Major
1st Place: Overall in Class
Charles Simpson Spirit Award Recognition of the festival band that strates the highest standards in Discipline, Professionalism, Spirit, Punctuality, Appearance, and Cooperation
Score: 87.6
Second Place Band out of 8 Bands in Competition
(1.3 points below Grand Champion)

So we did pretty awesome. Everyone was cheering the whole way to the buses. Leeseville Road was the Grand Champion. As Mr.Rowe said "who'd know that a school like that would be a marching machine."

Well that's all for now.
