Okay. Just when I thought things makes sense when Loki is mummy, then now I think that not only does it makes sense but it is also the reality that moffat failed to realize--that the reason Mycroft easily took over the Gov is of course Tony freakin Stark as benefactor. Then there's Sherlock. Who else would give sherlock free reign over london n endless chemicals?

Godfather Stark. That has a certain ring to it. :D. And I agree with Pepper. Its totally the narcissism talking.

Tony likes to fan Mycroft's megalomania (inherited from Loki, though, no matter how much Tony likes to take credit for it) and encourages Sherlock's unreasonable demands (because he finds Sherlock's demanding-ness cute for some reason).

In any case he likes the idea of encouraging little evil geniuses (apart from the whole narcissism thing) and driving Thor insane. Not to mention the weird dress like a mafia-mobster thing he does whenever he visits his godchildren.

Of course, Pepper Potts always says the real reason Tony likes Sherlock and Mycroft so much is because they are both also little dark curly-haired evil geniuses and Tony Stark is a giant narcissist. Yes. This.
