Heee!

(Nice to see you - thought you were in terminal hibernation! I'm off to France in the wee hours of Thursday morning - by air - so I am less than pleased with the current state of airport security!!)

Thanks! Lovely to see you too! Love your icon. 8-)

Not hibernating quite yet, but the nights are drawing in and Christmas will be here before we know where we are... ::wry grin::

Hope you have a great time in France. 8-) I'm thinking you'll be making an earlier start than usual? 8-( How long are you going for? We're coming over to Manchester at either the last weekend in July or first in August and I'd love to meet up again. 8-)

Thinking on, when Wadj and I went to French City Con in Paris a few years back, there were armed police patrolling Manchester airport then. I was so surprised, I forgot to ask what their weapons were - definitely not P90s! {g}

OTOH, perhaps it was just as well I didn't... LOL!

Another of my f'list made it for my birthday last year. The Spooks icons are in temporary retirement till the show is on again!

My plane goes at 6.40. a.m. and even before the current panic they were asking me to check in at 4.40 a.m. Yuck!! There will, apparently, be armed police all over the place and Colin can't just drop me at the terminal - everybody has to go to a car park. I'm going for a 'women only' week with German friends - their holiday home is beside the beach on the coast near Bordeaux.

I'll be back on 14th so I'll be available when you come over. Sitting in the garden doesn't seem like a possibility at present and may just have been a dream in the past, but who knows, the rain might stop!! It would be nice to see you anyway, and if it's really wet we could consider the Hat Museum - not far from Stockport station.

Aarrgghh! 4.40 a.m.? ::thud:: Is the train to Manchester airport not an option?

Bordeaux? So, hitting the claret, huh? ;-) Sounds like fun. 8-)

I'd love to meet up again. Sitting in the garden would be good, if the summer got its act together. That was a wonderful day and remains a very happy memory. 8-) Hope you weren't flooded? 8-(

Have a great time, and hopefully, I'll see you soon. 8-)

The train to the airport goes via Manchester so would probably mean leaving home around midnight or earlier... (no idea when our first or last trains are, not being a night owl). Well, of course - it's Manchester airport. Why would it make sense to try to get there from Stockport, even though it's on the Stockport border? The drive only takes 20 mins - probably less in the middle of the night, so that isn't a problem and C is usually still up then, anyway! I'm going to try to have a 'nap' this afternoon and then stay up - and demand a siesta when I get there! :)

Yeah - sand, sea and wine. And sun. I hope! I've forgotten what sun looks like. We aren't exactly flooded but I keep getting drenched and could do with a wet suit for picking raspberries. You're on the flooded side of the Pennines. Is Lincolnshire still with us or has it floated off into the North Sea?

E-mail me when you know your plans/after 14th and we'll set something up! See you soon!

Ah, silly me. The Transpennine Railway maps draw a straight line: Stockport - Manchester - Manchester Airport. I just remembered that the railway station is pretty close to the airport entrance.

Anyway, hope the journey turns out better than expected. Jonathan flew out to a stag night (weekend) in Ljubljana at the time of the last scare. What's wrong with the pub down the road? ::rolls eyes::

It added 20 minutes to the outward journey and the return was on time. 8-) It's still an ungodly hour though! 8-(
