It is as I feared; my simple gift has let loose the housing on Suzuki's kindness barrier. He has in fact lost physical form, and is now PURE unbridled givingness.
Why you ask? Why? It is a combination of timing and attitude. Allow me to explain;
I finished up today as I usually do; pretty late. I ran around the perimeter of the school today, the first real running I have done in Japan. Every lap kids were giving my high fives and a group of about 5 girls yelled "Fighto! Fighto!" Every time I passed them. Seriously it is the most motivating thing on earth. So I do this, then hang out with the girl's Judo club talking English, chatting about this or that, really trying to saw down the language bar as much as possible. I then head to the teacher’s room, get my things, and head to change my shoes. At the shoe changing area (I am still much slower than the Japanese, damn them, they are good at switching out shoes... I could go into this shoe shit more, but suffice to say it is scary how fast these people change shoes) I ran into a few teachers. Before I could get my shoes on, He materialized to my right. I need not speak his name, for you know the moniker of The Giver.
He smiled the smile I know, the smile that unleashes the Pavlovian response on my end to revert into a child on Christmas. He carried in his right hand a small dark plastic bag. He slowly removed its contents....
Not unlike this morning, Suzuki proved once again that time is not something that limits him; he can transcend it freely. "So Rick, he gave you something you craved when you were in High school?" No friend, you would be off, a little wrong, "Chigaou" as they would say here. This time Suzuki donned his cape and traversed the space time continuum the other way; he went into the future.
He handed me two items; a gilded manga and a cardboard cutaway. You read that correctly, a gilded manga. I have never seen gold on a manga book before, but here it was. The lettering was all Gold. The title read "Air* Gear Limited Edition." The cardboard cutaway contained pins corresponding to the manga. I was a confused; I didn't know what it was, or what it was about. Cutouts? Gilded manga books? I was baffled. Another smile from Suzuki made it clear; in the near future I WOULD know what this is, for I was sure to like it. It is my hypothesis that Suzuki, while in the future found out that I would endear this manga. He then relapsed to the present and found the current issue of the manga, which he then handed me; he handed me what was to be my future desire. That’s right folks, I wanted this shit and I didn't even know it yet. He was giving me a glimpse of the future, not unlike the Ghost of Christmas future. Shortly after this astounding revelation Suzuki seemed to shrink in size, shyly smile, say "dozo" and then make his way back to the office, smiling and bowing to everyone as he passed them.
Onlookers were confused; they did not realize that had just witnessed a temporal distortion. They had no idea that I had a piece of the future in my hand. How could they? I then went home. The book and the cutout with pins sits next to me. I flipped through the book quickly. It is enticing. As if there was any question.
So in one day Suzuki showed me both the past and future. I fear what comes next. This is a lie; I am enthralled by my own next installment of Suzuki strikes. I cannot imagine what his kindness will unleash next.
All of this leaves only one question begged...
Does Suzuki warp through a Quiloth when transcending time? If so, does he give Skull Knight a high five as he does so?
