The Friday Five.

This week's Five are brought to you by bindyree.

1) What was the first song you remember hearing and enjoying on the radio?

"Feels So Good" by Chuck Mangione.  I was 4; we were on a trip to Gatlinburg, TN (my family), it was like 10:30 pm and we were just about to get off the freeway for our hotel just outside of Chattanooga.  Don't ask me why I remember this so clearly.

2) If you could only listen to five CDs for a year, which five would they be? (Boxed sets can count as one CD. Sigh.)

"Dark Side of the Moon", Pink Floyd; "Rattle and Hum", U2; "Bat out of Hell", Meat Loaf; "Classic Queen" (or "Queen's Greatest Hits"), Queen; "Blood Sugar Sex Magic", Red Hot Chili Peppers.

3) What was your favorite year, music-wise?

1991, because I discovered Queen, Meatloaf, RHCP, and much other good music.  Also one of my least favorite because A) Freddie Mercury died and B) Nirvana released "Smells Like Teen Spirit" and began the innundation of the grunge movement.  People have called Cobain a new generation's Lennon; I agree to the point that they both married crazy bitches and they both died of gunshot wounds.  Other than that.....

4) If you could witness one historical music event through all time, what would you pick, and why?

Queen at Wembly, 1986.  Music just doesn't get any better than that.  The only singer in history with more stage presence than Elvis Presley.

5) Do you have a song that never fails to cheer you up? What is it and why does it do that for you?

"Hope", Shaggy.  It just has a great tempo and lyrics; and Shaggy doesn't try to sing at all lol.
