I've found a bike in Oregon I'm looking to buy, however, it's a salvage (reconstructed) title. I'm told it's because the bike was dropped (cosmetic + foot peg damage) and the insurance company fixed it and titled it so. I'm new to sport bikes, and I need to know it hasn't been wrecked.
- Can you check the VIN of a bike and get insurance history in Oregon? (like you could a car)
- If a bike is salvaged in Oregon, do I need to have it inspected if I license it in Washington?
Any advice? The price is right, low miles, but I've never owned a sport bike, and I want to be careful I don't over look any problems.
