Two, actually. The CO and XO were relieved yesterday.
That's just how it is. The CO is responsible for everything, and the XO is his right-hand man responsible for the housekeeping. To do that, they depend on the Chief's Mess, the Wardroom, and the crew. We rather let them down. But ya know? 70 million dollars in damage and missed operational commitments mean someone has to go. It was just surprising that it was both.
There are more articles, but they all pretty much say the same thing. Unauthorized smoking next to unauthorized flammable material stowage. F---ing lazy idiot smokers.
