This morning I stood at the kitchen window and watched the birds flitting around. There were at least three male cardinals and a female, two bluejays, a pair of black birds with yellow on their wings building a nest in the porch awning, and several wrens. Pretty! Especially the cardinals, who seemed to be playing some sort of follow-the-leader around the yard.
The daffodils are blooming, and the pretty purple crocus, but the crocus got pretty battered by last night's rain. There's a pink-flowered bush just covered with blooms, and two golden yellow forsythia out in the yard. Along the front porch, the periwinkles are blooming everywhere.
Oh, the cows? In the pasture across the driveway. Black cows, eating their hay. Mooooooo!
