Pleasant Weekend
Yesterday was sunny and hot. Charles fixed dinner, mmmm, good! Off the grill was salmon, rainbow trout and fillets, and a simple Caesar. We kicked back in the yard and chilled. We decided to go to the river and wet our feet. He'd brought dessert with him, fresh strawberries and dippin chocolate! We sat at the river til the mist came rolling down the river and the sun was going down.
Today was total chill and decompress, with a nice light rain all day making it even better. I watched PBS and the trilogy of Green Gables. Just delightful.
I love my new home, nice to have a separate office, and a living room that really is a living room. I'm looking forward to now having the time to decorate and put everything away, and fix up the guest bedroom. Huge window in my bedroom; the morning sun wakes me up, and I love it! The day after FS, right after the canopies were taken down, a big strong storm hit. Everyone came inside. It was so cool to stand back and see so many people in my home enjoying themselves. The fireplace is about a foot up, and it's got a nice stone hearth that served well as a bench.
The farm's crop planting and defoliation, happened a week before FS. What a difference a week makes, and some rain. The corn is about 6" tall now and so beautiful. I need to post some pics.
Oh it was fun to watch a live feed of my friend's kits!
Ummm, I think there's some lemon meringue pie left in the fridge. That and a cup of decaf, and I'm set for the night!
