Lots of fun stuff to rant about.
Let's start with life and my job. My employees are worthless, they threaten to walk out on the job at the drop of a hat. I can't force them to work because firing is the only thing that will coerce them to work, and I don't have the support of my boss to do that. Half the time, I can't help the customers myself either. They want merchandise I can't get in the store because the lovely people at corporate are changing my orders. I order what I need to sell to customers, and they modify my orders to send me what will fit on the truck along with the goods for our other store. It would make both stores much happier (and profitable!) if they would send two trucks with everything both stores needed, but they'd rather just be cheap and only send one truck. And the customers aren't much better. One woman who is a particular pain in my ass right now bought two birds the other day, never owned birds before. I knew she was trouble from the moment she parked her car in front of the store. No, not in the parking spaces in front of the store. In front of the store, directly in front of the door. One specific instruction she was given multiple times is to never keep the birds near a window or an air conditioning vent because birds are very vulnerable to drafts which cause respiratory problems. She brought back one bird dead today. She said she moved the cage because it was under an AC vent. Where did she move it? To the window. Because they seemed nervous and a view outside would calm them down. Good job dipshit, you killed the bird. But the second one was perfectly fine. Or so she told me when she was in the store. Two hours later, the phone is ringing. It's my District Manager. Said customer tricked one of the other stores into giving out the DM's cellphone number, told her that I gave it to her, and then complained her bird was dying. So now my store is being held accountable for the vet bill for this woman to take her other bird to the vet. Not to mention my DM is pissed at me for giving out the phone number I never even had to begin with. I'm so ready to quit, go back to school, and find a job at a real company.
How about an all-encompassing topic - women? I'm venturing dangerously close here to sexism, but I can honestly say that I've observed this fairly consistently from person to person. In terms of opinions of other people, women (in the majority) seem unable to grasp the concept of indifference. It's either love or hate, especially towards other females. If you're not with them then you're against them, there is no middle ground. Every time one of my female employees does something wrong, it's always the same "you hate me, don't you?" No, stupid. I'm not happy with you at the moment, in fact I could be extremely pissed off at you. It doesn't mean I hate you. "I don't want to play on that server because that other chick is there." Suck it up. You mean to tell me you're going to deprive yourself and many other friends of your presence because of one person? (And to the person who I know is going to read this and think I'm referring to you, keep in mind that this is case in particular refers to multiple people. I'm not picking on you. ・ω・) "I'm a self-respecting person and I wouldn't do that, so anyone who does is evil/bad/whore/stupid/etc." Jesus fucking Christ on a pogostick. And they called me a soapbox racer? You see them as inferior? They see you as a stuck up, self-righteous, arrogant prick. Who's right? I tend to agree with them.
Here it comes - I know, it's a shocker - you don't have to have an opinion on everyone. Live and let live. They don't have to help you, as long as they're not harming you, leave them the fuck alone. They aren't out to get you just because they're not tripping over everyone else to help you.
Put to rest what you thought of me,
While I clean this slate with the hands of uncertainty.
So let mercy come and wash away,
What I've Done.
