Some of you may recall my comments about finding an old 19" CRT monitor in the abyss that is my bedroom closet. I had a bit of inspiration and decided to put it to good use. An old stereo was sitting on the table at the foot of my bed, not hooked up or anything so I just shoved it over and plopped the monitor on the table to get it up off the floor and out of the way. Inspiration struck and much fun followed. I set up the stereo and monitor nicely, stuck my laptop on top of the stereo, and found a cable to attach the laptop to the monitor. (Still need to run to RadioShack and get a cable to attach the laptop's digital audio out to the stereo rather than using analog, but meh.) Much to my surprise - and satisfaction - my laptop supports two monitors at the same time, at full resolution. This means a nice big gaming/video display at 1280*1024 on the 19" CRT, and up to 1680*1050 on the laptop's LCD display. Currently running the CRT at 1280*1024 and the LCD at 1280*768 because text gets way too small and I can't read it from my bed. Wireless keyboard, mouse, and gamepad (not pictured) round out the setup quite nicely.
