so with the new year, and having no kickboxing classes.. i was re-evaluating my training.. and decided to change gyms.
previous school
+kettle bell weight training clases (these were awesome)
+two main instructors are awesome kickboxers
+cardio 4 days a week
-only 2 kickboxing classes a week
-spent other 2 days working on heavy bag on my own
-classes were pretty slack, and by that i just mean the overall mentality of the school/gym. I was new, but i was pretty focussed.
-school seems more goaled towards their Kempo martial arts vs k1 kickboxing
-schedule was late (7-10 or 8-10)
new school (Infight MMA/Jiujitsu)
+has actual gym (weights, treadmills, etc)
+lots of experiences instructors, only two jiujitsu blackbelts in sask)
+kickboxing class 4 days a week
+jiujitsu class 4 days a week
+MMA class 4 days a week
+classes so far are more geared toward Muai Thai kickboxing/mma then K1
+classes so far are more intense
-less cardio workout so far (but cardio i can easily do on my own via HITTS)
+schedule is awesome 6-9
+most people seem pretty focussed in their training
I was a little bit nervous I jumped the gun signing up, but after a couple days I'm feeling cnfident I made the better move. All in all, the cost is about the same and I get way more out of it. And its so convinient to have it all in one place, and I get home early enough to make dinner and relax before bed.
So, 1 month to train hard and tone up as much as i can before I head to Costa Rica to do some surfing/djing/clubbing
