moved in and settled
So, most of you know that I/we have spent the last 2 weeks moving in and getting settled. I have finally made it to the last spot in the house, shed actually, that needed putting together. Doug had moved a bunch of stuff out there and had put things away as far as he could, but I went out there today with Mark and took everything out of the shed and put it all back together. Much better use of space and I could even bring a few things back in to store inside. It is a pretty nice shed, pretty weather tight and has a fair amount of space. Even has a killer shelving unit in it. So, now most everything is done. Still need to do a few things around the house like put up a couple of quilts/paintings and we are putting in a new light fixture in the kitchen. There is currently a floresent one, the kind you have in a garage but nicer, but it humms and drives me nuts. So, we found one at Home Depot for a resonable price and will have someone put it up for us. So, that is sitting on the dinning room table. I have to call the glass place and have them come out and give me a estimate on a glass piece for the table so that I can take the pads off of it and not worry about scratching it up. Otherwise, things are coming along.
It was great to see Sarah and Rob right after the boxes came and have them help us out with stuff. The movers came and got the boxes on Monday so that was nice. I got my desk cleaned up yesterday. It was also our 32nd anniversary. We went out to dinner and Doug took the day off.
So, things are coming along. Mark leaves on Monday for 10 days in Minnisota for a wedding and time with the Matt's. Goose is doing well and has met a bunch of new dog friends. He is a happy boy. Mark is taking picture of the house and will send them out later this weekend. Dad has his ipod stuff all saved onto the new computer.
We found out that the person who bought our house in AK is still not living there. She also has a home in Girdwood and is still living there. Crazy.
