Random Harry Potter questions and observations....

I just got done reading Order of the Phoenix for about the sixth time. At least. What amazes me about these books is that I pick up on something new each time I read them. I have read about 2 chapters (for about the 5th time) of Half-Blood Prince and already noticed something there too.
I guess it's mostly my brain dusting off cobwebs and finally noticing things that other people have possibly surmised a million years ago. I wouldn't know, I haven't participated in any forum discussions or even looked through one in at least a year. So here are some random observations and I would love it if my HP loving audience had any comments:

1.  Harry couldn't possibly be a Horcrux because Voldy keeps trying to kill him. Voldemort wouldn't kill a part of his own soul, would he? No matter how pissed he was at that pesky teenager?

2. The mysterious "veil" room in the Department of Mysteries must be an execution chamber. Dumbledore  refers to it as a "death chamber" at some point, and it kind of seemed a good explanation. What still perplexes me is that there are tiers of benches in the room. Does an execution need that many witnesses? The wizarding world doesn't have that much press (or so it seems), so why all the seating? Or is it there for funerals, like if someone knows they are ill without hope of recovery and everyone comes to watch them commit suicide basically? What the hell is that room for?????

3. In the chapter in HBP where Snape is talking to Bellatrix and Narcissa he tells them he can't speak the name of the location of the Order of the Phoenix since he isn't the Secret Keeper, but how come Harry can shout "Number 12, Grimmauld Place!" into the fire in Umbridges office to talk to Sirius even though he isn't Secret Keeper? And why the hell didn't he just travel there with his whole body to talk to Sirius so Umbritch wouldn't see his ass poking out of her fire in her office?? Erg. Oh well, I guess Hermione and the rest of the people covering for Harry would have gotten busted and it would have been a matter of time to sit and wait for Harry to come back and then get him too.

Ok, like I said, I am too lazy to go into a forum and discuss this with the masses. So any observations about that stuff would be great. Let me just say after reading OotP I am pretty damn excited for the movie. For the Ministry of Magic battles and scenes alone it should be spectacular.
