I don’t get it. Yeah, I’m sure people have said or thought that about me, with the way I used to dress, but still. It’s something that makes you curious.
I don’t even know when I noticed. Might’ve been after I became company clerk - I’m pretty sure Radar knew. That kid was pretty sharp.
It doesn’t make too much sense to me. Hawkeye can have any nurse he wants, just about. What’s he want with Dr. Freedman? He’s... a man.
Yeah, yeah, I don’t suppose I have any room to judge, but, you know Hawkeye just always seemed so... heterosexual - is that the word when you like people of the other gender? I think it is. ‘Homosexual’ is when you like someone of the same gender, right? Major Winchester would probably know for sure. He knows a lot of things that I don’t.
I mean, I guess it’s okay, but I thought people like that were supposed to be weird? Hawkeye seems pretty normal, to me. He doesn’t try to ‘recruit’ anyone or anything. I guess those people with the flyers back home were wrong. I don’t think they’d believe me if I tried to tell them, though.
I don’t mind, really. There doesn’t seem to be much wrong with it. Yeah, it’s a little different and everything, but that’s okay. It’s not hurting anybody, right? I mean, what’s the big deal? War kills people every day, no one has a problem with that. Well, not ‘no one,’ but you don’t see people with flyers trying to stop war from spreading before it corrupts our youth, do you?
It seems to me that it’s kind of stupid, really, how that works, but I don’t really know anything about politics or anything. Maybe I’ll ask Major Winchester if he’s not in too bad a mood, later.
You know, I wonder if he knows. He probably does; he’s pretty observant and Hawkeye isn’t the most subtle guy in the world. Dr. Freedman, though, I don’t know much about. I wonder why he’d like Hawkeye? Like I said, I don’t get it.
I wonder who else knows. BJ probably does, now that I think about it. He is Hawkeye’s best friend, so that makes sense. I don’t think Major Houlihan knows. She’s loosened up some, but not that much. She’d probably throw a fit. I hope she doesn’t find out.
I wonder if Colonel Potter knows. He’s a smart man, but wouldn’t he have to report it, or something? But then, he’s also pretty fair - I should’ve been reported awhile ago, myself. I guess if he did know he probably wouldn’t care.
I don’t think I’ll say anything about it, mostly because I don’t really care, but also because I don’t completely understand it. My mom always told me to mind my own business if I didn’t know all the facts about a situation or if I didn’t understand it completely, so that’s what I’ll do. Hawkeye and Dr. Freedman seem to get it, and if they know what they’re doing, I guess that’s all that matters, you know?
