Elfy and Gail are over there, sparring by themselves. Ren and Aran are wandering about and scouting out the lay of the land, because Aran has never been outside of the forest before, and Ren feels like sticking with the new guy for a while. Rose and Jehra?
The two of them are with Ryner, who's got a couple of what appear to be CD cases in his hand. (Jehra's laying down right by Ryner's feet, as is typical. Rose is standing just in front of him, looking up excitedly.)]
So, let's see, then... It says I'm supposed to take this disk thing and break it over your head? Not really sure how that's supposed to work, but...
[So he opens one of the boxes (it's labeled 'Thunderbolt'. Hmm...) and takes out the CD inside. He gives it another once over before kneeling down and placing it over Rose's head. And Rose closes her eyes expectantly, wiggling a little excitedly.]
Ah, well, let's try it, anyway.
[And he breaks the TM.

As the now-used TM disintegrates, Rose opens her eyes and smiles brightly. "Fairy!" Oh, she's so excited!]
Well, I promised I'd show you, didn't I... You remember the design I showed you last night, right?
["Clef." She nods. She remembers what he drew on that piece of paper that he asked Ren to burn afterward.
Ryner stands up and stretches backward a little before staring out toward a spot in the distance.]
Well, this is how it actually gets used. Watch carefully, okay?
[And he starts inscribing symbols in the air with his hand. Very quick motions by most people's standards, though in actuality this is only about a quarter of the speed that Ryner usually casts this spell. He's only been practicing it more or less as long as he can remember.]
What I seek is lightning... IZUCHI!
[And with that... well, nothing happens. Did you expect anything to? Ryner didn't. Magic was eaten by Arceus doesn't work here, after all.
Rose looks a little bit disappointed, though, which leads Ryner to rub the back of his head sheepishly.] Well, something like that, anyway. If I could actually use it, it would be a lot more impressive. I mean, well, for one thing, you'd be able to see the symbols I was writing...
["Fairy! Fairy!" And suddenly, Rose has leapt up onto Ryner's shoulder and is pointing at a spot further ahead. It takes Ryner a moment to figure it out, but...]
Ah... do you want me to show you again or something? It's really not going to be any different...
["Clefairy."]
...Hnn, fine then. [He decides to humor her.] What I seek is lightning...
[From the way his hair is being moved slightly, he can tell Rose is doing something, but he decides not to turn and find out what while he goes through the motions again.]

And suddenly, lightning shoots forward, so unexpectedly that Jehra looks up to see what just happened. Not quite from Ryner's hands, but it would almost look like it if it didn't obviously extend backward toward his shoulder.
Oh Rose. Using Thunderbolt to emulate Roland magic. After a moment of stunned blinking, Ryner can't help but smile as he reaches up to scratch her behind the ear.]
Haa... Now you're just being silly, Rose.
["Fairy~" Still, Rose is happy. Because she made her dear partner smile. And she even got an ear scratch out of it!]
Still, though, just make sure you're careful with that, okay? It could really hurt someone if you used it without thinking. And it's not something you want to be using in small areas like the inn.
[He gives her a slightly pointed look with that comment, and she just smiles back innocently. That incident with Magical Leaf was totally isolated. Obviously.
...Haa, well, probably better to save Water Pulse for another time anyway. There's been too much water around lately as it is - adding more would be incredibly troublesome. But anyway, leaving that aside...]

It's called False Swipe - says it's a move that "can't bring the opponent below one HP" or something like that. An ability that can't kill... That's the best kind, don't you think?
["Ab." It would seem as though Jehra doesn't disagree, at least, because he sits up and stares at Ryner, as though saying, all right then, go ahead.
Ryner therefore goes on to use the TM.
