Unfortunately, he's also possessed. And the ghost doesn't realize that trying this with Ferris is akin to suicide. And if Ryner has any control at all in this situation? Well, he might just be letting it make this huge error so that Ferris can get it out. Ferris beats him up all the time, nothing new there.
...Or he could be taking the opportunity to snooze while his body's being taken for a joyride, too. That wouldn't be too surprising.
Whatever the case... there's some ominous (but not quite evil) laughter coming from somewhere behind you, Ferris. It might seem somewhat familiar.]

...It doesn't, however, miss the bed sheet, and so a combination of the stomp and the rolling and the environment manages to tear it. You might sense a change in the atmosphere as the ghost gets out of there.]

When it seems as though she's relenting, Ryner slowly starts trying to make his way out from under this bed sheet. Slowly, because yeah, stomping is painful.]

[Direct hit, and knocked back to the ground! ...Admittedly, he. Kind of saw that one coming, but the ramifications of exactly what happened are finally starting to dawn on him, so he's a little too distracted to actually dodge.
As soon as he recovers, he's on his knees in a bow of apology.]
