Trying to work out the plot for the original story arc I contemplated incorporating a car accident or a near accident, but it didn't work out that way.
I kinda of thought that having Kat hobbling around on crutches while living with Music Man would be symbolic of her regressing to a child like state and as she got closer to recovering she would become emotionally/psychologically stronger as well.
I decided against this because...
1) I don't know enough to portray this accurately.
2) It didn't really fit with the direction I was going in (Doom Syndicate).
3) It is too much to incorporate into the story.
Hopefully my muse will come around so I can finish the 2nd part of chapter 7.
