I think I need a holiday
Oh wait, apparently I just had one... So after a long Winter Weekend of boardgames & late nights & drinking galore, I got home and went splat. Batteries were decidedly run down before I even got to the event, and went downhill. Started with a bit of a sore throat & cough on Sunday morning, got worse by the time I got home, so I went to sleep at about 5.30pm. Sore throat was much worse this morning so I was good and stayed in bed, and pretty much slept through to 3.30. Got up and unpacked my bags, and then, shortly before 5, my pager went off - scrub fires by the wastewater treatment plant. Three of them in fact - arson. Got in the truck & then realised that the last food I'd had (if you count Up&Go as food) was breakfast Sunday. Oops. Yay, firefighting while sick & undernourished. Dumbass... Not my best idea, but I didn't want to miss our first fire since March. At least there was pizza after. My batteries are completely flat now, and I should probably go to work tomorrow, given that I went to play with fire when I was supposed to be in bed. I'm sure I'll be perfectly functional & healthy...
I should sleep.
