Shopping in Otaki

Jun 26, 2008 18:13

Went up to a tsunami workshop in Palmerston North today. I didn't really learn anything I didn't already know, but I also kept nodding off... But on the way back I went shopping in Otaki. Bought a down jacket from the Kathmandu outlet store, discounted from $439 to $175. There was a different jacket that I'd liked the look of, but when I tried it on the cut across the shoulders was all wrong - which seems to be surprisingly common these days. How can they not know how to set sleeves properly? And I got a pair of rather cute shoes from Minx for $130. They actually make their own shoes on site, which is bloody rare these days. Haven't bought nice shoes in a long time.
The forecast thunderstorms and severe gales didn't show up here last night, it all kind of piddled out. No tornadoes for us.
