As I write this entry, I'm very cranky. I just spent the last 6 hours (approximately) gathering props and costumes for the Odd Couple because our crews haven't done it yet. Tomorrow, I'm brining:
3 dress shirts
2 ties
1 pair of slacks
1 jacket
2 magazines
1 newspaper
12 cans of O'Douls
1 bottle of Martinelli's apple cider
1 electric razor
1 can of Coke
1 phone book
4 slices of bread
1 wallet w/ pix
1 bottle of lotion
1 orange marker
1 key
1 pair of pajamas
a bunch of plastic cups
4 fake cigars
2 CD's w/ cases
2 bags of chips
1 variety box of snack food
5 napkins
1 ladle
3 coasters
1 tray
1 melmac bowl
1 pillow and pillowcase
1 jar of pickles
To get all of these, I drove out to The Magic Planet, 7-11, Bev&Mo, and Albertson's (twice). I spent a total of about $25. I am not happy. I wanted to go over lines tonight, but I spent my entire evening doing tech stuff. Needless to say, I'm not to pleased with certain stagecraft people right now. But... Mr K today made an odd comment. When citing the lack of props, he said, "*Rant, Rant, Rant* Well, I know you guys all 'love your techies' but you may be needing to bring in your own props. *Rant, rant, rant*." In essence, he lumped together Dan, Korey, and Justin along with some of the... less enthusiastic stagecraft kids and blamed them for prop crew's iniquities. WELL, BUDDY, MAYBE IF YOU LET THEM TECH, THAT WOULD HELP. But no, he won't. Captain usually refuses to even acknowledge the interdepartmental crap, and that he would even allude to it reveals how ugly this is getting. Oh, I wish there were something effective the students could do...
In other news, we're watching the De Broigle wavelengths of frisbees in chem tomorrow (translation--> we get to play 3 flies up or ultimate frisbee or something!).
