A follow-up and update

Hi All!

Well, this time around I am definitely more calm and at peace with things. If you weren't already aware, I did decide to attend the U's law school. It is a risk that could have great dividends by way of opportunities, but time will tell. It just was a really hard decision since it pushes back Jay's and my goals financially.

Since I gained two extra weeks of summer, that amounts to about a month and a half off without working, I have simply been relaxing. Poor Jay has had to work. =( However, from what I hear law school is really stressful, and it was highly recommended to just relax while you can... yikes!

To go back though, after quitting Ecolab I spent a week in Kansas City with my parents and brother. My brother came up to MPLS and picked me up and drove me back to KC. It was so great spending time with them. We didn't do much of anything though I helped dig a ditch in our backyard. The ditch was for a draining pipe and gravel, which we then covered up with grass so you couldn't see it. My parents were having problems with water flowing from neighboring yards and this helped direct it to the next neighbors yard who also had a drain pipe installed; so no worries we aren't going to have mad neighbors at us.

Then that following weekend Jay came to KC to pick me up and we headed over to St Louis for a few days to celebrate our one year anniversary a little early. We watched a Cardinals game at the new Busch stadium (which is REALLY nice), went to 6 flags amusement park (tons of great rides) and toured around. One of my favorite things was the Anheuser Busch brewery tour. It's a free hour long tour where you go through all parts of the beer production facility. Regardless if you are a Budweiser fan or not, it's very interesting plus you get two free beers at the end. Also, there were some beers that I did not realize were part of the Busch family. One in particular is Stella Artois...did anyone else know it was part of the Budweiser family?

Other than that Jay and I had been keeping things pretty low key for the last month. The beginning to middle of our summer was extremely busy between weddings, friends and family visits, etc. However, it made the summer SO much fun and I would rather have friends and family around over anything else.

Tonight, Jay's dad is coming down to the cities for the night and tomorrow we are going to the State Fair. I am VERY, VERY excited to go to the fair. I honestly think it's one of my favorite things about Minnesota. I think it's fun mainly because it really is all about family (well, and fried food and things on a stick). My family used to come up for the fair nearly every year. Unfortunately, the last couple years they haven't been able to since my brother started college and my mom started teaching at a different school. However, I am excited to go with my hubby and father-in-law! Then that afternoon we have a wedding, so it will be a long and busy day but SO much fun.

I am getting very nervous for school to start! My days of relaxation are severely numbered...down to two. I have orientation next Wed through Fri with classes beginning Tuesday after Labor Day. Oh boy...let the good times begin!

Jay will have to update sometime soon...hint, hint...but that is pretty much the highlights of the last month and a half or so.

I hope all is well with y'all!!!

Take care!
