I've been spending time with the new Weezer album. It's okay...they really could have done without "Heart Songs". Also, I kinda don't like Brian's singing voice...he sings the whole second half of the album! It's cool that they're mixing it up, but River's voice just does it for me, always. On the contrary, "Miss Sweeney" and "Spider" are really, really good. They give me the tingly chills.
In a nutshell, I feel like The Red Album lacks that certain angst that fans have been starving for. I guess it's hard to make another Pinkerton. Especially when you're middle aged and married. (Too harsh?)
I started my first grad class on Thursday. Writing for Children's Markets. I'm finding it very difficult to care about this topic. I have absolutely no desire to write for children. At the moment, I'm story boarding a picture book about three kids who start a pots n pans band. Eh. It's so hard not to put them into an utterly bizarre situation. But, alas. No child wants to read about an awkward dinner party.
Also, I got a job as the HR for Shaw's in Nashua. I have my own office, and I get Sundays off. Full time. Bennies. More moneys to spend at Lush, to make up for my totally unglamorous new position. Monday morning meetings in Candy Fluff sparkle powder.
