Gah - kissing! The most perfect part of H/D. There ARE so many good kisses between them (even when they're bad), and you've captured them all in this narrative. Brava.

Love this.

I love the brevity of his thoughts - it's like when you're waiting for someone and they're late, and you start playing car crash senarios in your head but you're afraid to think anything like that properly and you're jsut sitting there watching the clock waiting to hear the key in the door and you can't think in complete sentences because everything is broken up with 'please come home now'. And then when they come in you feel so silly for worrying and they become the most beautiful person in the world. You've captured that feeling perfectly. And the kiss is all the more beautiful for it.

Wonderful job. I love the snapshot pacing of the story. A glimpse here - another there. It feels like a start-stop-hurry-up-and-wait pace that I'm sure Draco was very familiar with during that time.

I wonder if you meant for the reader to get the impression that Harry had died and Draco was remembering him - for a while anyway. That's actually what I thought until Draco starting asking "him" to come back. LOL But then I realize that surely you would have given a warning for character death. :D

Great job!

Thank you! This kind of experiment with pace is a bit of a departure for me, so I am so pleased it came across that way!

It is deliberately ambiguous. When I was reading through the comments people left for this art when Stella first drew it, I was struck by how many people thought Harry was dead and that was what we see on Draco's face. I really wanted the suspense to build, to try and give us a tiny feeling of the horrendous waiting Draco is doing.

But if I could have written character death (and I'm not sure I could!) I would have warned!

Thank you! I am so pleased that came over for you!

I AM SO PLEASED!

I am so delighted this feels right for you. I love that look on Draco's face, and the sense of powerlessness but also enormity the background conveys.

Thank you so much. I am so pleased this was right for you!
