Better of 2 Evils: The Shootings, The Media and The Opinion

Mar 12, 2009 19:09

Our world is both damn awful and frighteningly simple.

Every time someone dies people who make money out of it turn up.

Who are these people? Journalists. Writers. Directors. Song-writers. Me. You.

Welcome to the system.

It's as easy as it is simple. I'll be your scapegoat, I'll be your savior. You wanna be in the Wikipedia - that's fine, but first please sell me your soul or maybe even your body so I'll put it into a book or in this Live Journal post.

Everyone is a star. Whether you're Eric Harris or Marilyn Monroe or my next door neighbour. Your life is no longer yours, it's no longer exclusive or special, it can belong to...anyone, really.

My point is, the media wants me to cry and tear out my hair when SOMETHING happens. But why would I? It's all just part of the plan, of this never-stopping ever-lasting system. A boy goes off his meds and shoots his classmates, I get more comments at LJ. Life's cool, life goes on.
