In the news lately:
-went fundraising for the Human Race at Safeway and collected 46 bucks. And some old man had left and driven back to give me two dollars because i "was perky." I probably was all sunshine and smiles cause I was just feeling good today
-got my haircut. Kinda like it but its much too short. The lady said she'd cut off a few inches. And I mentioned I'm growing it out to donate again so she'd take that in to consideration. And somehow I ended up losing five inches which is half of a donation! So that just kinda bummed me out
-discovered last night my single presentation was due in neuroscience today so had to do a quick scramble to through together some power point slides. and the presentation overall went well. i felt i could answer the students questions. and it was a pretty interesting subject to explain, which was leptin resistance and research into it for obesity treatments
-trying to figure out housing for the summer/next year. should i stay here and try to get new roommates or search for a new place to stay?
-excited for summer to arrive. a break is very much needed. and I have my fingers crossed that we can get Spamalot tickets for when I go to Vegas
-was at Powderpuff for Greek Week and was terrified at the attacks that were occurring on the field. One girl tossed another girl over. At one point there was a dogpile. So much for noncontact flag football. And these girls said mean comments and I jokingly said 'hey play nice' since they were talking about us. And they replied with 'we're just talking shit'........as if that made what they said any better. needless to say we felt pretty out of place. we're an academic group first, a greek org second. and its a pretty small second. But it was cool playing babysitter for Sanaa (I think that's how its spelled). Since I'm not baby crazy I usually don't enter the battleground to take turns to hold her and play with her. But she was complety adorable and hilarious, making all these silly sounds. So maybe one day in the far off future I'll do that mother thing........maybe
-sleepless nights mean migraines occur, meds are taken, insomnia occurs, goodness knows why. And for the strangest thing the sleepless thing boosts my mood. Go figure.
