A Wannabe Malibu and a Science Trip

The Exploratorium was FANTASTIC to the bijillionth degree. It is amazing that a place like that exists where kids (and adults) can be so hands on in a "learning" center. It's not stand behind the rope and stare at the random stuffed creatures and the obscure columns written for an academic journal beside it. The exhibits on light, bubbles(waves), sound, and biology were sooooo fun. But it was once again proven I am technilogically challenged in the more mechanical areas. And on the way back from SF the fog bank was beautiful against the dense trees of the hill, climbing overly with wisps of mist reaching toward the lake below. Gorgeous!

Afterwards we stopped by Los Gatos....it was rather terrifying. It was the equivilant to a wannabe Malibu but lacking the depth, no surfer culture, no famous directors/actors/singers, no beach, etc. It was a credit card town just flashing the cash trying to prove what they had. The public school was insane, the amount of funding to get amazing buildings like that...if only L.A. would put some of its money to the academic areas. I went to a private school and it was no where near that level and neitehr were any of hte other private schools in the area. Io and I stood out like sore thumbs amoung the crowd in our casual jeans and t-shirts obviously not designer neither following the latest trends. I have to admit I am once again more proud of the city I currently reside in.

Today I walked to the beach with Olivia. It was wonderful to play catch up. I had sorely missed her over summer when I needed someone to tell me "boy trouble..just say NO." We had dinner with Andrew where I bumped into Chris who mentioned that he might resurect the Cliches or some version of it and wondered if I was interested. I had forgotten how little I've been involved in theater these past few months. I'll cross my fingers that perhaps in the future I can do more improv. I miss the freedom and fun of it, the release of laughter and the thrill of performing.
